Based in Perth, Western Australia, Zafu has more than 10 years of industry, government and academic experience and has worked as an urban planner both in Perth and overseas in Ethiopia. He is a registered member of the Planning Institute of Australia and has worked as a Research Fellow at Curtin University and as a Strategic Planner at the Department of Communities.
Zafu is also a contributing author for the Transport Chapter of the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in the Sixth Assessment Report.
He is proficient in plan making, the built environment and broader environmental issues, focusing on building stronger communities.
Zafu has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s degree in Urban Management from Ethiopia, as well as a PhD in Urban Sustainability from Curtin University.
